What data Alfonso logs

When you use the app, you log data about your baby's care: your baby's name, date of birth and sex; feeding, diaper, sleep, bath and temperature events; growth measurements (weight, height, head circumference); medications and vaccines; developmental milestones; and, if you choose to add one, a profile photo of your baby.

Where that information lives

By default, everything is stored only on your phone (local Hive database), without touching any server. The app works without internet.

If you turn on syncing (optional, from the menu), events are uploaded to our own backend on Firebase (Cloud Functions + Firestore) so they can be shared with the people you invite. Firestore is configured so no one can read it directly — everything goes through our API, protected with an access token.

Who it's shared with

With no one, except the people you explicitly invite by generating an invite link (drawer → "Share access"). Each invited person has a role (Admin, Caregiver or View only) that limits what they can see or do. There's no login or passwords: the invite link is the credential, and you can revoke it whenever you want.

Users without a subscription see ads from Google AdMob, which may share your advertising identifier with Google for advertising purposes. Subscribing removes ads. Outside of that, we don't sell or share your data with third parties.

Notifications and device data

If you turn on syncing, we automatically log the platform (iOS/Android), device model, and a notification token (FCM) so we can notify you when your partner logs an event. We verify requests come from the real app using Firebase App Check.

How long data is kept

While the app is installed and the synced account active, data remains available. You can delete individual events at any time from the history.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete the data you've logged directly from the app at any time. If you have questions about your data or want to request its full deletion from the backend, write to us at [email protected].

Minors

Alfonso is designed to be used by parents and adult caregivers who log data about their babies — not by children. The baby's data is entered and controlled by the responsible adult on the account.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and, if the change is significant, notify you inside the app.
